Daniel Norell is a Swedish architect, cofounder of Norell/Rodhe in Stockholm, and senior lecturer at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg. He has lectured widely and has previously taught at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, at Porto Academy, and at the Städelschule Architecture Class in Frankfurt. He holds a PhD in Architecture from Chalmers, where he currently co-directs the master's studio Before and after building, and an MArch degree from UCLA in Los Angeles. His research, pursued through theoretical inquiry as well as through design and practice, centers on means of architectural representation and their role in the conception and production of architecture. The research, often undertaken in collaboration with Einar Rodhe, has been published in journals and edited volumes, and has been exhibited at Aedes Architecture Forum, ArkDes, Bildmuseet, the Bruges Triennial, the Oslo Architecture Triennale, the Venice Architecture Biennale, and at the Yale School of Architecture. Recent research projects include Interiors matter, funded by the Swedish Research Council, 2019-2024.
